Featured sessions:

New frontiers in visual data science & AI for the energy sector

Michael O'Connell, Spotfire

The energy sector is on the rise in North America and worldwide. This session provides recent updates in Spotfire Visual Data Science and AI with energy sector examples in context.

What's new in Spotfire 14.5

Brad Hopper and Atheer Alattar, Spotfire

This session provides an overview of the new Spotfire product SKUs, along with Visualization, Action Mods, and Data Function features. Includes demonstrations of how those features unlock new capabilities for energy sector use cases.

Customer session: Liberty Energy

Cory Wagner and David van Akkeren, Liberty Energy

In the era of big data, Liberty Energy has faced the challenge of managing vast amounts of live and static data points generated in the field. Analyzing that data has become key to Liberty’s strategy for enhancing operational efficiencies for both the company and our customers. This presentation will explore how Liberty Energy leverages Spotfire to empower its customers with greater control and deliver value through the integration of live and static data. The session will cover:

  • The challenge of handling massive data volumes
  • The rationale behind selecting Spotfire as our development platform
  • An in-depth walkthrough of the custom technology stack we’ve developed
  • A demonstration of our live data dashboard project
  • The developmental obstacles encountered and the resources employed to overcome them
  • Ongoing efforts to expand and optimize our use of Spotfire

Digital Wildcatters meets Dr. Spotfire

Bobby Neelon, Digital Wildcatters, and Jose Leviaguirre, Spotfire

This session will feature a lively discussion with Digital Wildcatters and Dr. Spotfire.

Optimizing production & surveillance at scale: Two advanced Spotfire solutions

Mario Ortiz-Torres, Priyank Dwivedi, and Alexandria Salinas, Oxy

In this session, we showcase how Oxy leverages modern data pipelines, distributed computing, and Spotfire extensibility (JavaScript, IronPython, Python, SQL) to deliver two high-impact solutions. First, the Outlook Tool seamlessly integrates allocated production, planned jobs, and rig schedules to forecast well-level and area-wide performance. Next, the Competitor Surveillance Tool (CST 2.0) merges internal (Oxy/OBO) and external (IHS, Enverus) data into a single dynamic platform for reservoir, spatial, and competitor analysis. We’ll highlight strategies for handling millions of rows efficiently, offloading heavy calculations outside Spotfire, and designing an intuitive interface that accelerates decision-making across multiple disciplines.
