Sessions:
From reservoir to refinery: Spotfire AI and industrial analytics in space and time
Michael O'Connell, Spotfire
Spotfire provides an interactive AI and industrial analytics experience for geoscientists and engineers across the Energy sector. In upstream exploration, geoscience and spatial analytics are in focus—and interactive brush linking in the Spotfire map chart provides immediate insights. In upstream, midstream, and downstream, time-series data are the focus, with equipment data providing real-time visibility into production, yield, and equipment status. This duality of space-time immersive visual analytics in Spotfire generates confidence in capital-intensive investments and in optimization of operational systems. This presentation provides a tour of the Spotfire immersive AI and visual data science functionality across the energy sector, with a focus on space-time data sources.
Executive panel: Industrial AI, data, and analytics
Michael O'Connell, Spotfire; Angela Henderson, Continental Resources; Rachael Moreland, S&P Global; Charlie Ray, Diamondback Energy
The combination of industrial AI, data, and analytics is driving rapid change and value across the energy sector landscape. Corporate data is providing new fuel for GenAI, LLMs/SLMs, and agentic AI systems, while analytics platforms are evolving to include nimble design, operations, integration, and evaluation of multiple engines and workflows. In this panel discussion, hear from energy-sector experts on the front lines of this rapidly evolving landscape.
Wider, deeper, faster: Spotfire in energy
Brad Hopper, Drew Scherer, Jose Silvestre, Spotfire
The latest Spotfire release introduces the "Wider, Deeper, Faster" framework to significantly enhance energy analytics across the entire value chain. Wider reach expands analytical support beyond traditional upstream applications to integrate midstream and downstream data, enabling end-to-end energy intelligence. Deeper insight augments analytical power, allowing users to analyze complex relationships between multiple data sources directly within a single subsurface visualization. Faster performance is achieved through new Action Mods and native distributed compute support for Snowflake and Databricks. This refresh provides the industry's most robust environment for comprehensive end-to-end energy intelligence, with interactive demonstrations planned to showcase its value across subsurface, production, and midstream.
Geoscience and subsurface analysis with Spotfire, AI, and reservoir data
Rafael Navarro, Shell
Well-designed, workflow-ready data products enable geoscientists and petrophysicists to focus on data interpretation rather than data wrangling. This session introduces a scalable subsurface analytics architecture where large-scale upstream processing converts raw petrophysical log data into curated, gold-level reservoir data products, enabling advanced spatial and statistical analysis directly in Spotfire. By leveraging distributed SQL with Databricks, the workflow transforms tens of millions of raw records into concise, high-value reservoir-level datasets—significantly reducing data volume while preserving critical geological signals and uncertainties. Using Spotfire as a central analytical hub, with capabilities such as Spotfire Copilot and embedded Python, these engineered datasets support advanced spatial visualizations and analytics, significantly accelerating prospect maturation and assurance.
Dr. Spotfire panel: Foundational tools for the Spotfire energy ecosystem
Jose Leviaguirre, Spotfire; Alireza Haghighat, S&P Global; Jonathan Henderson, Enertel; Shakeel Muhajir, SHM Consulting
This interactive Dr. Spotfire panel features a Q&A session and hands-on demonstrations, focusing on Spotfire developers and power users. We will chat with Spotfire experts about how they can extend the functionality of Spotfire to meet the specialized demands in the energy sector. From reservoir to refinery, from geospatial analytics to time series analysis, panelists will share insights that showcase visual data science methods and new Spotfire features. The discussion will cover Spotfire developer tricks, kits, and practical methods for integrating external tools and libraries, as well as how to address engineering challenges and build analytics applications for the energy industry.
From data silos to real-time production intelligence: Transforming oil & gas operations with Spotfire
Jackie Stabell, Caturus Energy
This presentation explores how Spotfire transforms oil and gas production operations by replacing fragmented Excel workflows and siloed data sources with a centralized, automated analytics platform. Leveraging a Microsoft Fabric warehouse and secure Microsoft Entra ID integration, teams gain real-time visibility into flowback and production performance. Key use cases include automated flowback reporting and streamlined deferral tracking, enabling faster decisions, improved coordination, and reduced manual effort. The result is a scalable, governed data foundation that supports standardized reporting and sets the stage for advanced analytics and operational optimization.
