From smart factories to connected supply chains, Industry 4.0 has challenged manufacturers to reduce manual, hard-to-scale processes, accelerate digital transformation, collect more actionable ESG data, and take advantage of insights from digital twins and anomaly detection. The digital factory isn’t just a buzzword trend—it’s the new reality for manufacturing. Key to this change is the use of manufacturing analytics to ensure quality, increase performance and yield, reduce costs, and optimize supply chains. Does your organization have a trusted data and analytics platform—like the leading manufacturers below—to turn your manufacturing processes into competitive advantages?
Brembo improves processes and increases revenue with analytics
Brembo SpA is the world leader and acknowledged innovator of disc brake technology for automotive vehicles. The company wanted a better way to achieve smart factory goals, such as improved process optimization control, purchasing, quality control, and R&D. Brembo found it with Spotfire. The company reports a 25 percent increase in revenue due to improved production efficiency. Its manufacturing department uses Spotfire visual analytics for clustering the cooling curves of its aluminum foundry and for predictive maintenance and lifespan prediction of machine tools. Additionally, the advanced R&D department uses the platform to develop KPIs for noise analysis and testing.
“With Spotfire, we can discover and rationalize a lot of information that was otherwise not possible…Spotfire became a new standard for analytics at the Brembo Group,” said Paolo Crovetti, chief information officer at Brembo.
STMicroelectronics puts analytics at the heart of its manufacturing
STMicroelectronics is a worldwide creator and manufacturer of semiconductors, technologies, devices, and solutions for vehicles, industrial equipment, personal devices, and more. To orchestrate faster, smarter decision-making across its global manufacturing sites, the company turned to Spotfire analytics.
Since adopting Spotfire, the team has democratized insights across the organization, empowering more than 5,000 active users within less than three years, a 150 percent increase from the previous approach. Knowledge sharing and governance have greatly improved at all production sites. As Guillaume Deschamps, STMicroelectronics’ data and analytics subject matter expert, states, “With Spotfire software, we have brought in new analytics practices and methods. Sharing across sites and organizations is now much easier. We are ready for the next era.”
