Does your data science and machine learning software vendor measure up?

February 11, 2019 by Shannon Peifer

Spotfire® Data Science, formerly TIBCO® Data Science, offers a unified platform that enables organizations to expand data science deployments, collaborate on cross-functional teams, and move from data to insights faster than ever. But don’t just take our word for it, see what industry analysts have to say.

Every year Gartner publishes its Magic Quadrant (MQ) for Data Science and Machine Learning to the great anticipation of industry experts and consumers. Using an evaluation matrix to determine the current position of vendors within the space, Gartner reports unbiasedly on the condition of the market.

We’re excited to announce that this year, TIBCO was named a Leader in the 2019 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Data Science and Machine Learning Platforms.

Here’s a quick overview of the strengths of TIBCO’s data science and machine learning platform:

A single, integrated platform

According to Gartner, a Data Science platform should be cohesive, meaning “the application’s basic building blocks are well-integrated into a single platform, so they provide a consistent ‘look and feel,’ and that the modules are reasonably interoperable in support of an analytics pipeline.”

In September 2018, TIBCO announced TIBCO® Data Science, which combines the capabilities of TIBCO® Statistica, Spotfire Data Science (formerly Alpine Data), Spotfire Statistics Services, and TERR, therefore providing a more robust, well-rounded platform.

The TIBCO® Data Science platform can help your organization become a digital leader by bringing together meaningful data visualizations, predictive analytics, and insights garnered by machine learning.

IoT Edge Computing

TIBCO’s efforts to continually innovate have been recognized by Gartner, moving from the Challengers quadrant to the Leaders quadrant over the last year.

Specifically, TIBCO has recently invested in IoT edge computing. Edge computing done right can create a huge competitive advantage. By simplifying IoT development, TIBCO helps to keep developers happy and productive with a user-friendly, open source core framework.

Collaborative Analytic Workflows

As Gartner states in the report, “The diversity of data science and ML platforms largely reflects the wide range of people that use them.”

Therefore, organizations need a platform that promotes collaboration on cross-functional teams with automated, reusable analytic workflows and scalable machine learning capabilities.

TIBCO’s platform supports the end-to-end data science workflow, providing flexible, intuitive tools so that anyone from a citizen data scientist to a business analyst to a process engineer can collaborate to get the most out of the data.
