Every investigation begins with a question. Yield dropped on one lot. A tool is drifting. Something changed, and nobody knows why.

Turning that question into a working analysis has traditionally required a chain of clicks, expressions, and data-preparation steps. Ask Spotfire, the natural language assistant arriving with Spotfire 15.1, shortens that chain. Engineers and scientists describe what they need, from preparing data to building and refining visualizations with drill-down, and the work happens inside their analysis.

What it creates is regular Spotfire® content, visible, editable, and still there when the assistant is done. You can't check, reproduce, or challenge an answer produced in an isolated session. An answer built in the analysis can.

Build and configure analyses faster

Investigation is rarely one big step. It is dozens of small ones: reshaping data, configuring visualizations, setting up the analysis so the pattern becomes visible. Each is small, and together they decide how quickly an investigation reaches an answer.

Spotfire AI augments the expert in building and configuring analyses and visualizations, so setup takes less time and more of the team can work with confidence. Every step stays visible, so results can be trusted and challenged, and the expert's judgment stays in charge..

Expertise can also be captured once and reused. Insight Agents are AI-augmented modules that perform specific analytical tasks, and Spotfire includes industry-native agents for manufacturing and energy, including wafer data preparation. Skills are reusable sets of plain-language instructions that automate a workflow your experts already follow. Together they let a method travel from the person who designed it to everyone who needs it, with results landing as normal Spotfire content that experts can review and refine.

Act

Close the loop from insight to action

An insight changes nothing until someone acts on it. Too often the last step of an investigation happens somewhere else: a finding gets copied into an email, a request is raised by hand, and the work waits in a queue.

With Spotfire 15.1, Spotfire AI can connect to the other systems in your environment through MCP, an open standard for linking AI to other systems. From within the analysis, an expert can bring in information from any system that exposes an MCP server and trigger actions in it, such as a maintenance planning or ticketing system. The step from insight to action no longer has to leave Spotfire.

The expert decides what happens. People who understand the process trigger actions, informed by evidence they can see, keeping domain expertise at the center of every decision.
